We bring together the works of independent ceramic creators from around the world, presenting the diverse possibilities of contemporary ceramics with openness and inclusivity—from material and technique to culture and emotion. Every form of expression deserves to be seen.

We believe that each work is, in itself, the best example—for example—revealing the creator’s thought, vision, and depth of engagement with the world.

Lizi Ceramics

Lizi Ceramics takes its name from “particles” (粒子/ Lizi)—the invisible, ever-present building blocks of all things.

Like particles drifting through every breath of air, culture is formed from countless small traces: fragments of memory, lines of poetry, moments of light. Though intangible, these traces shape the world we live in.

Rooted in Chinese traditional culture, Lizi Ceramics reimagines heritage through a contemporary Neo-Chinese aesthetic, reinterpreting the culture into sculptural, handcrafted ceramic works.

Every object is handcrafted and truly one of a kind, preserving the idea that meaning is formed, particle by particle, gesture by gesture.

Lizi Ceramics creates works that allow culture to breathe again—quietly, subtly, and everywhere.

万物由粒子生长。

粒子无形无状,却构成世界最初的秩序——轻若微尘,却在时间漫长的尺度上沉淀为山川河流、为器作物件、为文化记忆。粒子·陶瓷(Lizi Ceramics)正是从这种“极小之物蕴含无限力量”的思想中诞生。

在粒子的观念里,文化本身也是一种缓慢的聚合:记忆的碎片、文字的余韵、物品的印记,随着时间烈火的萃取、分裂、炼制……每一次的讲述、每一笔的书写、每一道的工艺,都是文化的粒子。它们或渺小、或短暂、或不可触及,却在不经意间塑造了我们对世界的理解。

粒子·陶瓷以当代新中式的眼光重写古意,将历史文化与陶土重新编织,化作具有雕塑感的手工器物,让文化在新的形态里得以延续,是无形到有形的诞生、是有形到无形的裂变,也是无形到永恒的重生。

粒子·陶瓷希望通过所创作的每一件器物去探寻对“意义”的观点。不仅是物质形态上的独一无二,更是一段被定格凝固的时刻,一缕不可复制尚未散尽的余烬,一种让传统再次呼吸的方式。让无声无形的意义,散落在生活中,悄悄地、持续地,与我们同在。

The Relationship Between Ceramics and Fruit: Sketching vitality, recording fleeting things

Why I want to create fruit-shaped ceramic vessels:

When I was young, I studied still-life sketching. The reference objects were often combinations of ceramic ware and fruit. My teacher emphasized that beyond color and form, texture was especially important in a composition—smooth or rough, hard or soft—these qualities needed to be conveyed through the image.

However, the hardness of ceramics is different from the hardness of a pear, and the smoothness of ceramics is not the same as the smoothness of an apple. So I began to wonder: what would happen if these two were combined?

Inspired by this idea, I use ceramic material—which transforms from soft to hard during the making process—to freeze fruit at different stages, from firm and unripe to soft and decaying. In doing so, I created a series of fruit-themed ceramic works and endowed them with practical value, giving them a storage function.

陶瓷和水果的关联性 速写生命力 记录短暂的东西

想要用陶瓷来制作水果形状的器物的原因:

小的时候学习静物写生,参照的静物很多时候都是陶瓷器皿和水果的组合。老师说画面除了颜色和形状之外,物品的质感也尤其重要,光滑或者粗糙,坚硬或者柔软,这些要能够通过画面来表达。但是陶瓷的坚硬和梨子的坚硬是不同的,陶瓷的光滑和苹果的光滑也不同,那么如果将它们进行组合呢?

所以我以此为灵感,用在制作过程中从柔软变得坚硬的陶瓷材料,将从坚硬生涩到柔软腐烂的水果定格,制作了水果系列陶瓷作品,并赋予了该系列作品一定使用价值即储物功能。
